The cost of a skip depends on a number of variables. In addition to the size of the skip itself, the price can vary quite a lot from location to location, along with any roadside permits required, which range in price depending on council area. The type of waste you’re disposing of will affect your costs quite dramatically, for example if it includes hazardous or contaminated waste that needs special treatment, or if it’s non-recyclable and will incur landfill tax charges.

Depending on various aspects of your site, including space and access, the volume and type of waste you need to dispose of, and the number of waste streams your site generates, different size skips can offer the cheapest and most efficient solution. Use the table above to compare the options, and contact our team to discuss your needs and get a tailored quote.

If you’re dealing with soil and hardcore, your choices are limited, as the heavy and dense nature of this type of waste means it soon exceeds weight restrictions on a vehicle. The largest suitable standard skip size is 8 yards – or if you have a high volume of rubble waste, any of the roll-on roll-off (RORO) skips, starting at 20 yards, are also suitable.

If you have a large amount of light bulky waste then it’s usually more cost effective to use one of our larger step sizes from 10 upto 16 yard. As a large proportion of the skips cost is in the transport, getting a 16 yard step is cheaper than getting two 8 yard skips.
